This project got implemented at the central station of Imam Khomeini Square. In spite of the relatively small volume of executive activities, this project is considered unique among the Tehran Metro project due to the following factors:

• the geotechnical situation
• the complexity and precision needed to change the tunnel’s diameter from 9.20 to 18.60 meters and ultimately changing it into two separate tunnels

The seepage of water via local subterranean streams during construction was among the challenges which was successfully addressed by the executive teams’ ceaseless efforts and also the team’s competency to carrying out the project within the scheduled time limit.
